Cinema doesn't just begin in the cinema – it begins with the format.
As a photographer, I am currently expanding my creative portfolio and specialising in Cinemascope technology so that I can offer my customers films in true cinema format (2.39:1). With the purchase of new anamorphic lenses, I can now also offer Cinemascope.

What does Cinemascope mean?
Cinemascope stands for the iconic, extremely wide image format that we know from major cinema productions. It creates:
- a particularly epic image effect
- more space for visual storytelling
- cinematic depth effect
- a more emotionally intense viewing experience
The targeted use of anamorphic lenses creates the typical look with wide horizons, soft lens flares and unique image compression – a stylistic device that has previously been used primarily in professional filmmaking.
Technological development: new impetus from Nikon & RED
The acquisition of RED Digital Cinema by Nikon marks a turning point in film and hybrid production.
This strategic decision will lead to massive developments in the following areas in the coming years:
- Sensor technology
- Colour processing
- RAW workflows
- Integration of photo and film technology
For us creatives, this means even more powerful systems, better dynamic ranges and a stronger fusion of high-end cinema technology with classic photography.

Training & knowledge transfer
In addition to practical implementation, I am currently working actively to familiarise other filmmakers and creative professionals with Cinemascope technology.
The aim is not only to use the format, but to use it correctly in terms of design:
- Image composition in 2.39:1 format
- Understanding and using anamorphic optics
- Lighting for cinematic looks
- Storytelling in wide screen
Because technology alone does not make a cinema film – what is crucial is an understanding of dramaturgy, spatial effect and visual language.
For my clients, this means:
- Films in true cinema format
- High-quality, cinematic aesthetics
- Future-proof production standards
- A visual experience with recognition value
The future of visual media will be broader, more immersive and more emotional.
I look forward to embarking on this journey together with my clients and creative partners – in true cinema format.
Let's tell stories that have the same impact as those on the big screen.
